Fresh Gulf Flavor, Done Right

"We arrived around 730 pm. We were seated very quickly. Our food was fantastic, fresh, hot, and tasty. Our waitress Mia was so attentive and very sweet. What we noticed was how all the young wait staff worked together and helped each other out. This is our 2nd visit and we highly recommend."

"I’ve been here about 100 times, including three nights ago. My server, Chloe, was great. Service is normally good, with the exception of the manager, Chad. He’s never spoken to me. A few servers stated he acts like he’s better than everyone else. I told them he doesn’t look like he has a reason to be better, plus I carry the wallet, so he shouldn’t be too good to speak when he walks by. At least the Gadsden location has a friendly manager. The food is always enjoyable. I love the slaw and cornbread they supply as appetizers. They have a dish that’s called “World’s largest seafood platter,” which has many options. It’s large enough for a couple to share. The catfish is great. They also have excellent greens. The sweet tea is always good."

"Wonderful menu. Great quality and delicious food. Service was really good. I got the Pick 2 Platter with fried catfish filets and fries gulf shrimp. Before my platter came out, they brought out a mini skillet of corn bread and a bowl of coleslaw. For dessert, I ordered the macadamia nut cheesecake."

"A wonderful experience at Top O’ The River. The food is consistently delicious and full of Southern comfort flavor. The turnip greens are some of the best I’ve ever had, and the pickled onions, fresh sweet slaw, and cast iron skillet cornbread are absolute standouts—perfectly made and full of flavor. The seafood platter is my husband’s favorite and never disappoints, always fresh and generously portioned. My mom especially loves the chicken tenders and shrimp, which are cooked just right every time. Great food, welcoming atmosphere, and reliable service—this is one of those places you keep coming back to."

"First time here... FANTASTIC! Our server was MIRIAM and she was so sweet. I had a lot of questions, concerns, and needs. She was able to take care of all that with tact and a smile. The food was perfect. I ordered ribeye combo with fried gulf shrimp. Steak was big, cooked to spec, and tasty. Got 6 big shrimp. Also at my table was build your own combo with popcorn shrimp and broiled crawfish tails. The popcorn shrimp were decent size shrimp, i would call them bigger than the usual "popcorn shrimp". The crawfish tails were buttery and seasoned but tiny. Many of the tails were smaller than the popcorn shrimp. But they were tasty. Baked potato was tender and well-cooked. Combos came with southern cornbread, southern coleslaw, and pickled onions. Delicious... Delicious...and Why?? Idk what i was supposed to do with the onions--thats the only part i did not enjoy. Dinner was $65 for 2 (before the tip) and worth it. We had plenty of leftovers and look forward to our next visit. Highest recommendations!!!!"
